About the Reserve
Management
The Biosphere Reserve is managed together with the Geopark by the Rinjani-Lombok MIDAS Management Agency.
A Biosphere Reserve covering a whole island needs many partners. The Rinjani-Lombok MIDAS Management Agency, overseen by the Governor of Nusa Tenggara Barat and coordinated through BAPPEDA NTB, brings together the provincial and regency governments, Gunung Rinjani National Park, the forestry and marine agencies, universities, businesses and community organisations.
The Agency reports to the Indonesian MAB National Committee, which links the reserve to UNESCO.
